moto 440 help
#1
i currently race mx and i am going to jump to a 4 stroke. the moto 440 has plenty of power and is race ready out the door. but i have heard about reliability problems. i know with a race quad you will tend to wrench on it more but i dont want something that will eat holes in my wallet. i was interested in the problems some moto owners have had. the 02 moto i am looking at says it has "updates" and thats it. what updates should i be looking for it to have? thanx for the input

You can put in a Falicon crank, 950 or use a stock crank w/ Z400 bearing, 145 or stroke the stock crank w/ Z400 bearing to make full 450cc and balance it, 300. There are a number of 450 pistons if you choose not to stroke the crank. New valves and springs by Kibblewhite 250. Studs need loctite inside motor. Motor mount update 35, oil line update 60. Some things you could do but don't have to, steel oil pump gears,100, aluminum impellar 50, decompression lever, 50. Somebody to do it all, 600.. There are some other things but it's all personal preference from that point.. Now will it stay together. Go to the track and see how many other quads break down. Some is from poor ownership and some is nobody's fault, shiat happens!!!!! For the most part these are the primary problems w/ Dales. Some happen and some don't, but if you fix it all before it happens you can feel good knowing that the motor is fresh!!!
