Sometimes the pump will need to be primed with a little fuel poured in the hose. Make sure the quick connects are working. Its best to gut the internals out of them to avoid future trouble. All 4 parts need to be gutted. When you jumped the pump to the battery I hope you unplugged the ecm supply conector because you could fry the fuel pump driver if shorting wires . Did you go through the engine to be sure the flywheel is not spun, key sheared? ,all connectors are hooked to the correct sensor ,injector? They all look the same and its easy to swap the crank pickup with the coolant sensor. All electrical tests are layed out in great detail in the efi service manual available at the Dale web sites for free.

The engine you bought. Is it new, used ,running, did you pull it down and update or are you going to roll the dice?

The pump will turn on for a few seconds when the key is turned on and everytime you tap the start button. The quick connects have little white tubes in them with small orings . The orings swell up after a while and restrict flow . Im not talking the orings on the outside that you can see. The plastic pieces can be drilled or punched out to make for free fuel flow. You do lose the auto shut off capabilty but Id rather have a quad that runs .
