--FYI-- They just came out with a battery for Electric start quads that saves 4 pounds. Its a new high power lithium battery. I just bought one and it is the weirdest thing... It feels empty but starts the motor no problem. It's made by a company called Wicked Batteries. (info@wickedbatteries.com)

Very interesting news!
What's the pricing and availability of the new battery?
Life expectancy? Any issues with stock charging systems?

The only drawback that I could see was the price,($399) although price per pound it looks like the cheapest way to cut weight on a machine.

Lead time was 3-4 weeks.

No problems with the stock charging system, and the life expentancy is very good as long as the battery is not left below 8V for extended periods of time.

It looks like the web site is still under development, but if you send them and email they are quick to respond.

Ow! That's steep!
I think after the lithium battery is out for awhile, the price should come down.
Right now they are the only game, so they can get the price.
Thanks for the info.
