Anyone Had Problems Starting Your Cannon?
#1
I read in a mag. that the bike had trouble starting for no reason some times. And I have read that a guy couldn't start his quad after washing it and another had the wrong clip or something in the starter.
Just wondering how common these problems are. I read on the Cannondale website a procedure for starting. It said hold throttle open 1mm and crank for no more than 2-3 seconds at a time. I wonder if the people having trouble starting were not following the proper procedure. With my quad there is definately a drill that MUST be followed when starting it or it will not fire.
Any input would be appreciated. It would have to be extremely frustrating having a brand new quad that would not start. Thanks.
B-T-W, where did the post on the new pipe dyno results go?

I have reposted my dyno info. Why would anybody call it advertising? My name and number to talk to any FX owners who care to call? I didn't even tell anybody to call the manufacturer, just me. If somebody calls I was going to tell them all about what I have done. There is only about 200 FX owners and only two of us are posting info on this site, I put my email, name and phone number just so I counld talk to any other owner who wants some info. I'm trying to get info to owners that haven't got any at all. Sorry for the rant!

I know a guy that has one... He said no troubles so far. He also advised me to not touch the gas when starting it. I didn't, it fired right off. Just like a fuel injected car or truck...
cddcpa - if you hadn't noticed before, the moderator(s) here are a bit **** & like to delete valid info if they even "think" that it might in some way be considered "advertising", but will allow all the flaming, trolling, & just plain ignorant posts to continue as usual.
Heck, I'll probably get banned again for speaking up...

i had the problem with it not starting after i washed it the first time but it was not because of the water. What happend was one of the wires for the fuel pump came loose. Nothing a little lock tight could not fix. But shure did give me a scare.

That sort of problem is not isolated to Cannondale though.... My battery connections (both positive & negative) have come loose on my 400EX causing it not to start. After I loctite'd them, I had a wire get pinched that energizes the solenoid (too much jumping), it wouldn't start (till I figured it out), and last but not least, I broke a negative battery cable at the terminal on the frame (too much jumping). Replaced with high quality 4 awg cable and gold plated terminal, no more problems....
