HEy, I am 14 years old too. I have a cannondale fx400, and its so fast. If money is your problem, i wouldnt recomend the moto 440, there going for 11,000-13,000, and you cant finance it because its made to race. So go with the fx's or cannable's there so fast, Ive ridden a 16,000 250r and my fx kicks its ***

i'm a hardcore MX'er! If i bought the fx400 i would have to put at least $1000-$2000 shocks, axle, a-arms! and those arent even for sale from anyone! so i plan on keeping my R for 6 months then seeing whats on the market (cr4500f, kxf2500, zuki 4-stroke?). So i'll just and try to sell my R for now (or trade for 400ex)!

Why doesn't cannondale build a smaller quad around 250-350cc for a cheaper price.

What class exactly would a smaller engined quad be competing in?

In the Oct.01 ATV SPORT mag. MR. Scott Montgomery was interviewed. He said that they were considering a new cc. quad. He said that they didnt know yet if they would go up or down in cc's.,but would probably go down smaller than 440. I think this would be good. Heck, I could'nt imagine a 500cc or bigger C-Dale! My FX400 is plenty for what I do. If the manufactures keep going up in cc's.,I think most MX tracks will have to be totaly redone in a few years. There is a suchthing as too much for a track. Thats why you dont see 500cc stroked banshees racing MX. They could build something to race with the 250x and 300ex quads.

Well DirtWheels says 74mph. Faster than the Raptor and DS650. I say it just flat out hauls! Not saying they are wrong because I think they are right, but I bet when they done the test their rider weighed more than I do, 135lbs. So I think with me on mine the top speed may be a few more mph. Also it gets to 4th gear real quick, takes a little longer to stretch 5th out,but I never use 5th on the track.

Boy I sure hope Mr. Montgomery looks into some of the new technology before he goes off spewing how 2 strokes are dinosaurs. 2-cycle motors never had a reason to improve until now with the 2006 EPA standards coming into effect. There are some maunufacturers out there trying to improve 2 cycle technology for the earth and for the consumer. There are existing prototype 2 cycle engines that out half the emissions a common 4 cycle engine produces today. Something to think about before you go puting down an engine design and promoting your own company. Yeah Im sure your atvs are fast, they look nice. What's the clunking engine noise people had been hearing anyway? Ohh yeah how are the motorcyle sales going?

mxzx,
you said everything i was thinkin! I like 4-strokes, but I LOVE 2-stroke! If someone could build a 2-stroke like an R, 250cc, light weight, quick, awesome handling i would DEFINATLY buy on!!!!!!! No doubt about it!!! My money pretty much goes to the fist company to make somethin like my R! So scott PLEASE think about a 250cc 2-stroke! and NO their NOT dinousars! I'd like to see an R vs and Speed kinda race (R costed $4000 less!)
