Don't forget the ECU for the EFI is diffrent and you have a higher rev limiter. Have you priced those out? I hope that's not an extra 3 grand, it's something I'd like to upgrade my FX with.

I think we all love all of this talk about Cannondale Quads. Finally some high end products designed by enthusiasts for people like all of us. The Moto440 will be the first factory-built truly race ready (in every way) quad. The cost issue shouldn't really be an issue because it will be a good value. Add to your list: upgraded rear brake line, 50" rear axle, race quality seat cover, second set of blind headlight covers, tether kill switch, beadlock wheels, ITP MX tires, grips, front and rear number plates that meet regulations and look cool, racing exhaust, steering damper, correct gearing, a fuel map that is tuned for the pipe and aggressive GNC riding, and lastly a bitchin' look. It's going to be pretty sweet. Weight wise, it's similar to the $25,000 race quads that the top pros are using today.
I can't wait to see this thing rip around the track.

The axle on the moto is adjustable from +1 to +4 and it comes with those new super light carbon fiber rims. If you where to have someone build you a new race ready quad it would cost more than 13 especially if it was a reputable company. My riding partner SparkyEX checked out some of those companies to build him a new 250r style race quad and they wanted 17g's or more.
Not to mention you would have to be able to do all the upgrades yourself so you don't have to pay labor or tax on any of the upgrades. I heard from the closest shop to me that sells cannondale that the moto will be going for $12,500.

I think 13g is actually kind of reasonable. Cannondalemoto440, Cannondale has to by this stuff piece by piece also, I am pretty sure. I would sure like to spend 13 grand on something new rather than 25 grand on something thats old and the reliability is unknown because of the age. At least you know that if something goes wrong with the Cannondale they will fix it for free. You can't get the same garuntee with a 250R or any custom built quad (unless you are sponsered of course). And the Moto might end up paying for itself if you are good enough.

What tha hell is 25 grand???? Doug Gust's suzuki 400 is 22,000 with a WALSH RACECRAFT FRAM ($6000) and a drz dirt bike which they had to buy JUST to get tha motor out of! A national race ready 265r would be about 10-18 grand, I know of NO quad over $22,000! and by tha way, NEVER bash on an R! I own an R & 300ex kid! the reliability is anout the same on both quads! My 300ex over heated one day and burnt all they oil and i had to buy a new cam & rocker a-arms air-cooled motors SUCK!!!

in one of the last 4 or 5 issues of Dirt Wheels one of the pros possibly Doug Gust said a lot of guys on the pro level with sponsorship have up to 45 g's into their quad. I don't know what this could possibly include but that's what he said. My buddy who was going to by an R was looking at that Rebel Star race ready quad (I think that's what it was called.) and they said 17 or 18 g's. I think it had 50 to 55 hp which is a lot more than the Cannondale's 35 but at around $500 per hp that's expensive power! I wouldn't nock the R I think it's the greatest quad ever made. I just wish they where still made. I'm a little leary of buying something at least 12 years old from someone I don't know. I'm no mechanic and it's tough to know what you're getting. If you have a reliable source to by from or you know what you're looking at it's a great investment.
