There are a lot of us in and around this forum that fully understand the committment that Cannondale has and is making for the future of sport quads. However, there are some who dont. For ANYONE who is even remotely considering buying a Cannon, please read the following excerpt from the company's annual financial report. It was written by Joe Montgomery (yes, our friend/Director Scott's father) the CEO of the company. This is the kind of guy that makes the world a better place. (From the off roaders point of view)
Look at the level of committment ($$$$$$) these peoplhave gone to! What else do you need to know?

<< Six years ago, Cannondale foresaw the maturation of the global bicycle market, and we began searching for a complementary growth strategy that ultimately led us to produce our own brand of off-road
motorcycles and ATVs (All-Terrain Vehicles). Cannondale’s move into motorsports parallels in many ways our experience with our first bicycle introduction in 1983. In both instances, the very first units
shipped were not perfect, but in both cases the products’ designs offered considerable innovation, enhanced performance, and the potential to contribute significant future sales growth. And following the introduction of both our initial bicycle units and our first motorsports products, Cannondale’s management demonstrated an ability to improve quality, function, reliability, distribution and margins.
In 1983, the introduction of our bicycles positioned us to capitalize on the most significant period of growth in the bike industry’s history – the mountain bike boom. Today, we find ourselves an emerging force in the fastest growing segment of the American motorsports market – sport ATVs. And, as in the
past, we are positioned not as a "me-too" supplier, but as an influential cutting-edge leader in the high-end, high-performance category where we believe margin opportunities will be significant. Specific quotes from enthusiast print media are included in the attached press release.
Through June 30, 2001, we have invested approximately $65,000,000 in our motorsports division – a very
significant amount given the size of our company. Based on the quality of our products today and the
opportunity now before us, I have no doubt that it is one of the best investments we have ever made.
Because of volume and timing, our motorsports division is currently operating at a loss. However, we look
forward to realizing a significant profit per-unit, and potentially, profitability for the entire motorsports
division, in the later months of fiscal 2002.
