Cannondale FX-400 Hop Ups (mods)

I have a question about Cannondale Mods. In looking at the specs it looks like they come with real choice parts right out of the box, what's left to do to them besides cosmetic stuff. I know HMF has a pipe and a new head pipe is coming out that has two pipes that go all the way back to the silencer without merging that is supposed to help out. What else can be done to squeeze a little bit more out of that engine??

The only other engine mod I know of is to remap it. Maybe you could get ahold of the guy who was drag racing his Cannibal with...I think a 454cc Cannibal insted of 432. Look at thisArticle for info.

I was wondering because I have a couple of friends with FX400's and they are all the time trying to One-Up the other one. I talk shop with them a lot and Mods are always a topic of conversation.

Is re-mapping really the ONLY thing you can do to them besides going to a 440 kit??

I am no cannondale expert so don't ask me. Go to R&S Performance and talk to them about it. They should know all about what mods are available.

A HMF exhaust should work pretty good and the 454 kit is supposed to make it FLY. You know the square part between the headlights (the part of the plastic that has the air filter under it), well I'm thinking about cutting out 2 rectangular holes down it and an outerwears airbox cover to stick behind the holes, to allow direct airflow to the filter. The stock setup looks a little restrictive. I'm sorry if thats kind of confusing. I don't know any other way to describe it.

IS someone actually selling that kit???? I'd like to see all them Raptor owners that think there **** don't stink step up to that bad boy!!

I didn't come over here to start a Raptor/Canondale debate, I was asking a serious question. I am a very humble Raptor owner, if you don't believe me just ask my friends...............both of them. Also, my kids will attest to the fact that my **** does stink.

So now that we have all of that out of the way.

Can the piston bore simply be opened up or does a sleeve need to be added to handle the new piston in the 454 kit?? A cam would probably throw the computer into a coma, but I'm sure the fuel injection could be re-mapped to run with it.

I did not mean to start anything, I like the Raptor and all, it's just I don't like it when some of them get there pants or panties in a wad because they got beat by a 432cc machine.

No problem. I've just seen how some of these discussions have gone South in a hurry. Most of it is riding technique. I have stuggled a bit with my holeshots and then having to play catch up. One of my Cannondale buddys are up to something with his and won't say what it is. Some kind of performance mod. I figured that if there was somthing that could be done you guys would know about it.
