Chain slide(posible solution)
#1
Hey, I was reading through the back of Dirt Rider and saw an ad for aftermakret chain slides made by T.M designworks, maybe you guys should contact them and see if they will start manufacturing a new slide for the Cannondales. For this particular bike it had a 1 year warranty I think. I don't have any contact info but I am sure one of you guys/girls knows how to get ahold of them.

I had a T.M. Designworks chain slide for my 250R and it seemed to work good. It didn't fit right, though, which pi**ed me off because it wasn't cheap ($50). I had to trim it down to make it fit and that stuff is so hard that it took quite a while. From what I remember, their 1 year warranty covers only one free replacement and the rest would be pro-rated at their discretion.
I, too, am starting to think that the chain slide problem may be a design flaw. With the position of the swingarm pivot in relation to the drive sprocket there could be a large downward force on the chainslide causing faster wear. Then, to make matters worse, geometry issues also dictate that the chain slide has to be thinner than what you would typically see on other quads. Hmmmmmm......It will be interesting to see how C'dale attempts to fix this problem. Hopefully, T.M. Designworks is already working on their answer to this problem.
