I had a race today and on a couple of the jumps that I would just roll, I stalled it! I know it is my riding error, so I guess I'm asking for some riding tips. Also, is it the high compression that causes easy stalling? Any tips, ideas, and information would be GREATLY appreciated.

yodaddy- it is the hi-comp. you might try changing the front sprocket. Keep it wound out alittle higher.

Up or down? Sorry if thats a dumb question, but I have never had to deal with high compression... lol (I used to own a 300ex).

Feather that clutch and Turn up the idle about 300rpm..how ever you do it but it will help.

Hurycne, did you go to Badlands today? Johnny Hale was FAST! There is a practice on Sunday the 17th. I was thinking about adjusting my idle but it it already kind of high to start with so I don't think I'll do that. I'll talk to Carey or Kyle at R&S tomorrow and see if they have any other tips. Thanks for your help so far.

Do you know if you have aluminum clutch plates? Since you have a early cannibal, most likely you do. The later Cannondale's are now sporting steel plates that help a little in durability and act as a heavier (or weighted) fly wheel would.

PaRoostr,

The early FX's had the aluminum plates and they were switched to steel during FX production. All Cannibals have steel plates which are actually thinner than the aluminum plates. The weight difference is very very small.

I'll be buying smaller rear tires soon... do yall really think I should go down one sprocket size too? Will it not be geared to low??? I think I'm just gonna leave the sprocket as is, and force myself to do those jumps that I'm rolling. A couple of them wouldn't be that hard but it's more of a mental thing holding me back.

YoDaddy,

You have a cannibal? or a speed? Does it have the GP1000, cause that increases the idle by 300rpm's according to RS Performance.
