Don't even starrt with the make believe 450EX again. It's not going to happen for awhile(if at all), so forget it.

 

My reply was not indicating that I think that Honda has an inferior machine, I like the 400ex just fine. Granted the power is low, but enough for me, after being piped and jetted anyway. My prob. with most Honda riders are their attitudes, not the machines they ride. I have no brand loyalty what-so-ever, just hate the way most Honda riders think.

DSAPP- Sorry to tell you this man but there is NOT GOING TO BE A 450ex. The machine is a very HIGH MAINTENANCE machine and unfortunately to many people don't maintain their quads. Because of that, the machines will break down and have a lot of problems. Even though it will be that persons fault, they won't ever want to believe it and Honda's awesome reliability reputation will go down the drain. I really wish there was a 450ex coming out (not that I would buy one, but it would be awesome to have a new quad like that to compete with on the track) but lets say it did come out... Do you really think it would have the awesome power of the bike? Hell no it's not! They are going to tune it down A LOT.

Stebob- I have never heard of any Honda riders being "stuck up." All of my friends (that live around here) that race, ride Honda's and they aren't full of themselves at all. They all like the Dale a lot and I like all of their quads a lot. Ofcourse we joke around w/ each other a lot and I let people like Lonestarbanshee (rides a R now) know that I'm gonna kick his @ss the next time I race him [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] and he makes sure I find out just the opposite. This is how I see it... As long as we compete w/ each other like crazy, we will keep improving faster than the other guys.

 

There's going to be people like that with every type of motorsports. You can tell that these people are way to brand loyal and when thir machines are being jeporadized(sp?) by something better, they get mad and make their machine look lke it's hot stuff and your's is inferior. I'll post a personal experience just because I find it very funny. I went to a local riding spot and it is basically a cross between a MX track and deset race out there. I had my Mojave at the time, which I beat the **** out of, and went a little too high off a jump and blew out my front tire. I had just got there and wasn't going to come home anyway, again my Mojave was already beat and I was supposed to be getting a new quad anyway. I asked this guy on a 400EX if I could borrow his tire pump and he lied and says he doen't have one(don't know why) after I saw it in his van, or what appeared to be one. Anyway I borrowed a pump from someone else, and my tire held air for a couple hours. I saw the guy on the 400EX and asked if he wanted to race. We made a track to go down, basically a straight line filled with whoops and one jump. I had my friend count us down and we were off. I beat him off the line, through the whoops and when I hit the jump, I look back and he decided to turn around half way down the course. I was like, WTF is up with his quad(I couldn't beleive I beat him, and since he stopped I figured he broke something) I get back and all of his friends are laughing at him and they told me he didn't want to get beat by me so he stopped racing so I didn't "officially" win the race. If you ask me, thats putting a cocky rider in his place

 

I didn't really ever notice, 'till I joined this forum. Now I know they won't be like that to my face, but on here, they let their true feelings out. I have seen so many flames instigated by Honda riders on here it ain't even funny. I get bashed because I ride a Lakota. Your not gonna convince me any diff. However face to face I'm sure..positive it's different, however, glad to hear they are not all that way. Funny though, my buddy has a 400EX, and he IS that way.

 

Here are the reasons why the next ATV I buy will be a Cannondale...

1)Best high performance machines on the market
2)Cannondale factory support of their product
3)Cannondale factory racing
4)did I mention their kick-a$$ customer service?
5)competitive price, you get what you pay for

I just wish that they would change that UGLY front plastic...

 

Believe me, after you buy one, that front plastic will grow on you and eventually you'll love it. I was the same way because if I'm going to spend $6k or higher on a quad, it ought to look sharp!! It's one of those things that either people really like the looks or they hate it.
If you are one of the ones that's borderline on it's looks, believe me you will forget about it after you smoke all your friends!!
