What happend to my trans. oil filter?
#2
Hey special, that's weird! The first time i changed my oil the trans filter didn't come out with the plug and i found it in the case, sideways. Took me, ahem, 2 hours to get it out and i tore it up doing it. Did yours come out with the plug? the replacement is like $25.

It sounds like the filter got hung up on the plug when you were screwing in the drain plug. When you tighted it, it then twisted the filter. At least that's the only thing I can think of causing that. I've drained mine several times and have not had that problem.

Briansgi,it did fit a little more snug in the screw cap than the one on my fx,but I was able to screw it in with my fingers till it was all the way to the case then I put a wrench on it.When I took the
cap back out to change it this last time the plug cam out with no resistance.I think I would have felt if it was twisting the filter
when I was tightening or loosining the plug.I hop thats all it was though.
