My gas cap needs to be pushed down before the threads engage, but after that no leaks.

Mine leaked once when I had it filled all the way to the top. Now I just leave a few inches when filling it and haven't had anymore problems. The way the tank is shaped, your not missing much fuel if you don't fill all the way up.

My tank leaks around the gas cap. I am going to have to take it in to the dealer to see what they can do about it. The silver plastic around the tank has taken on a greenish tint because of the leaking fuel.

Several of us have complained in an earlier thread about the gas cap not screwing on straight, the leak is probably due to this problem. Apparently this is not uncommon and the only resolution is to have the dealer swap out the gas tank. Mine does not leak but you have to make sure you screw on the gas cap carefully or it probably would if it was completely full of fuel. It's real easy to get mine cross threaded.

If I fill mine to the very top it will leak, but if I leave it down just a little I have no problems.

Mine leaked, because the threads on the gas tank were cut wrong. I should be getting my new gas tank soon.
