Today was the day I took my quads home and I have to say wow is this thing wierd. Nothing about this quad is normal. The engine noise took a bit to get used too but I am really starting to like it. I have aproximately one hour of on and off riding so I am going to dump the oils and give it hell this weekend. I have a couple of questions, the chain seems to have quite a bit of slack, it is always riding the slider and I can lift it up off the slide a little bit over an inch. When lugging the engine in the wrong gear the chain makes quite a bit of racket. Is all this normal? dealer says 1-1.5 inch of slack is normal Agree? One of my headlights appears to be hidden behind some plastic on one of the edges, are the lights adjustable to make the whole thing shine through the plastic opening? I got a reusable oil filter and some mobil one synthetic oil for the engine and some Spectra 80 weight for the clutch and trans Is this all good? Last is there an adjustment on the front brake lever of some sort? I have to pull the lever like an inch before they start grabbing, maybe the fronts need to be bled a bit? Sorry so long winded but I appreciate any advice or info. This is one crazy sounding quad! Did I mention it rips and never seems to stop pulling? WOW!

Yeah, the manual says 1.37-1.60 inches of slack when measured in the middle of the swing arm. Mine was around and 1 5/8 and was making the slapping noise. I put it to 1 3/8, and the slapping noise is gone.

Yeah, if you take off the plastic covers, you'll see a bolt on the bottom to adjust the slant of the lights.

Yep, sounds good.

Mine are real touchy. They engage right away. I'd try bleeding them

Thanks for the info, I went and actually measured the slack in the chain and its 2.5 inches, I will be fixing that when I change the oil. One last question, I dont have a viewer window for the trans fluid or a bolt like in the manual, it is a big round looking bolt. The bolt is more of a 1 inch plug with an allen fitting in it to remove it. I guess I should just follow the instructions outlined for the bolt version in the manual? BIG thanks again.

The chain slack is one of the first things I had to deal with too. I tightened it and what do you know...my stalling problem went away......: ) JIM

Thanks, I will check my # when I get home. Does anyone know if the trans fluid check window has a metal cover? Mine has a realy big bolt like thing that looks like the same size as the window in the manual. It looks nothing like the check bole in the manual. I guess I will dig in tonight and find out for myself.

I have the check bolt also. My engine number is 1080. The newer engines (up in the 2000's ) have the window.
