call me retarded, but I never really looked at my vin # till I read that its the last three numbers is the number it was made, well mine is #024, so I assume I got he 24th cannibal off the line, anyone got a lower number than that? its an early model but I havent had any troubles yet, besides chain slide wearing out.

what upgrades, anyways saw the crack on your cross member there corndog. Hey dude, not preaching, but you need to learn to love your C-dale and realize just how lucky of a kid you really are. Hell you are 16 or something and you have a 7000$ quad, holly sh*t man, when I was 16 I was detassling corn in a corn field to save up to buy a freaking mountain bike. You got the best quad on the planet, yes you have had some problems but mark it up to bad luck and move on, and if you do choose to change quads, no needto bash what you had. anyways hope your quad is feeling better and you get that gas cap thing fixed, you dont want to be blowing up on a ride dude. later

My Speed is #24. I'm surprised they don't just # the frames consecutively and assemble from there since all the frames are idendtical.

Are some of you saying, that cannondale had the dealers send back the fx400 to be rebadged? Sounds like refurbs sold as new. What was the price on these? This sounds a little fishy to me.

All vin # are registered and have a manufactures certifacate on when they where made. Also they have to put one or two of the digits in the vin as the year built. No, I don't know which is which, but it is a code so everyone who knows the code can find out make, model, year, options, so on and so on. There is nothing fishy unless you bought a new 2002 and the frame has a 2001 vin and even that won't tell you anything real, except for when the frame was made.

When I sold boats (Wellcraft) they stamped in the model all of the above information.
