How in the hell did you manage to crack the frame there?!?!? I thought you meant that it was at a high stress area, like by the foot peg.

No crow to eat here, all I asked for was the pictures to be posted, and got a bunch of lip instead.

My first guess would be some form of inclusion in the metal that would cause it to break there. Without having the part and my friend who's a metallurgist take a look at it it’s impossible to explain the why. I used to do NDT and to find inclusions in metal is not that uncommon. The odd part is that these rods are extruded and the grain flow would be horizontal, so you wouldn’t get a crack straight down like that.

I'm glad that you got those pics posted and I hope that all of the people that bashed you (about showing them the pics) post on this thread and acknowledge the pics they requested. It took awhile but you got them online. Based on all of the past posts this should be the most hit post on the site!
