I understand the front a-arms from a 400ex will bolt on the front of my Dale but geometry is wrong. Does anybody know if the rear axel from a 400ex will fit on the dale. It would add some width and I know of lots of them laying around.

The 400EX A-arms not just a bolt on. I went through this with a customer just last week.
On Lone Star units anyway...the upper arms must be slightly ground to fit the mounts on the frame.
You have to use Moto tie rods because they are much larger than the Honda style that come with the A-arms. Honda's are half the size of the 'Dales.
You must use 400EX spindles because of the Cannondale ball joints...they are also larger. This also neans you must use Honda brake calipers because the caliper mounts are completely different and the mount is part of the spindle. The Cannondales use 250R style brake pads anyway that are wider than the 400EX, but don't "drop" as far onto the disc.
I have read where people have "claimed" to have put 400EX A-arms on their 'Dales with no complications....but I just don't see any way it's possible unless they have yet another variation of the Cannondale front end.
If any of you guys HAVE done this without using Honda spindles,..then please explain how it was done and your frame serial number.
Thanks.
