A couple of weeks ago we were talking about the new square silencer and how it pertains to the exhaust headers. I had spoke to a Cannondale Rep. and was told that there are TWO square silencers. One for the Cannibals that came with the round silencer and one for the new Cannibals which have the square as stock....THIS IS FALSE.

I have two more Cannibals in which the round silencers "blew" out.
Went to acquire the upgraded square one today and found out that the exhaust HEADER must be changed as well. I asked was to be done with this problem when the customer finds out that he has to pay big bucks for a new header. I was told that no customer who has a damaged round silencer will have to pay for this upgrade. Cannondale is covering the cost of both the silencer AND the full exhaust header.

This header looks like the one that comes standard on the Moto and Blaze, but are not the same exhaust.

Just thought I would pass this along since the previous information was incorrect.

What are the differances between the two Blaze/Moto and the new one. Is it just the material change of a dimension change?

I think only Cannondale can answer that one. I just asked if it were the same and if they would interchange. They said no.

Sorry, but I didn't go into any details with them as to why they don't interchange. I was wrapped up today and barely had the time to make the call at all.

I do plan to dig further into the matter though. If I had a Moto on the floor, I could tell ya in a minute, but we don't stock the Motos.

 

So if they are all going to this new header, what about the aftermarket silencers? Do they make any after markets for the new header? and how could the headers really be any different, I mean they come straight out the back and curve a little but there isn't really a lot you can change on them is there?

Well there is an obvious difference between the new header and the older one.

The older header stoped short of the silencer by about 6 in....The silencer[round] had a turn out on it where it meets the header pipe.

The newer header goes directly into the silencer.....The silencer[square] doesn't have any "pipe" at all coming from it on the header side.

 

Just an observation, but 3 of the 5 guys listed in the GNCC results have the same letter for the first and last name!!

Hmmmmm. You are right RoostKing. I just now noticed. Maybe the ranks will change come June 1 [Round 7]
