Stupid question, how do you open that plastic see-through part that the paper fuel filter is in? I got a bunch of the paper fuel filters from Napa, but does that plastic part stay? thanks, JIM

You have to replace the whole thing, the plastic is sealed and won't open. I've just been using a simialar size filter I got at Advance Auto Parts for about 3 bucks instead of the dealer filters.

thanks, I was wrong about only having the paper filter itself. I went out into the garage and realized I had the whole assembly...stupid me. How much fuel sits in the plastic part once the fuel system is primed? looks like the bottom outlet is covered with fuel, but not the top outlet.......JIM

about a quarter full when primed. No air can get into the line because its in a Vaccum.
