I currently have prairie 300 that i have had and ridden hard for three years,
But i have hours of experience on dirtbikes and highperformance quads.
And have a total riding experience of about 5 years.
Oh and i just turned 14 and am 5'11 and 165 pounds and am very strong for my age( i have have been working out seriously for 1 1/2 years),even so do you think that the cannondale would over power me?

oh and heres are a few more questions, which atv has more low end tourqe, the cannibal or the z400.
Someone said the cannondale are more of handful on tight wooded trails than say a 400ex because of the lightend flywheel on the cannondale, is this true???
How does the suspension on the cannondale compare to the z400?(in the latest issue of dirtwheels they said that the z400 had great suspension.)
How do the stock holeshot tires hold up to sharp rocks and such, and do the stock rims get dinged up quickly or not?

For what it's worth, Cannondale customer service seems to be 2nd to none, in fact, VERY impressive. At this point in time there hasn't really been any real probs. arise with the Z400 that I have heard of, but they are still very new. Teething probs. are to be expected on 1st year runs, but so far so good with the Z.

The Cannondale is harsh on the slower hard stuff. It's set up for ground pounding mx riding. The Z is silky smooth shifting. My Dale is notchy, but good. The Dale vibrates the bars the Z doesn't. The Dale will blow away the Z in the low end. No contest. My brother is thoroughly abusing his Z at the dunes and no problems. The wife rides the Z I have. It'a actually hers. She puts along catching some major 12" of air. I have put enough time on the machines to see the differences. The Z is a better dune quad and all of my riding has been done on the dunes.

Hmmm. I wonder because the c'dale makes most of it's power in mid to top end.

Now that seems crazy to me. I see the c'dale as the absolute best dune 4 stroke there is stock. Tons better than a 400ex and even better , due to power curve, than a Raptor or DS (assuming stock or even piped versions of these)

Fellow Utah brother help me out here....

Just cause I own a Dale doesn't mean it's the best in everything. Me and my brother basically race on sand tracks all day long at the dunes w/ pretty big air. I can't catch him and he can't catch me. Just cause I own a Dale doesn't mean I think it's the best. I am NOT brand loyal and give anybody objective advise, because that's what they're looking for. The truth hurts sometimes!! We are twins and w/ that, comes competition and bragging rights. Holeshots will hold up far better then Dunlops. Douglas .190 rims suck. Any wheel w/o a rolled edge will bend easily. Z wheels are much tougher.

Hey Sandgod,

Good thing you and your brother have different quads, or we might not be able to tell you apart.LOL

How is the Z better in the sand? I know you had about every quad known to man so What do you mean when you said it gets on top better. Is that a function of the tires right?

Later

No it just seems to lift up. It's the way the power is delivered. Kind of like how a boat gets on top of the water. It's weird. The Z has a zip to it where the Dale has the tractable yet revving way about it. I love my Dale, but I know when my brother gets a 432 or 450 kit I'm toast. We'll see. I'll have my pipe and Moto mapping by then.

I run at Little Sahara in Oklahoma quite often and I find it hard to believe you would pick the Z400 as a better ride in the dunes over any of the C'dales. I've not had any problems beating all but severely modded Banshees and modded big bore R's with my stock Cannibal. I have not been back to LS with the moto map and the HMF silencer but obviously I've got alot more power now than before. I'm looking forward to my next trip and hopefully will catch some Z400's hanging out looking for some action!!

If you're talking just straight line, I don't consider that racing unless it's bracket racing. Rider ability is all I can say on our sand mx tracks. So they're not like a true mx track, but it has everything except doubles and triples and it's all done on our giant sand box. It's quite fun actually and my brother, friends and I are the only people I have ever seen ride like this. Everybody talks about equal riders. We are more equal then you could ever get other then weight. My brother is well aware of Cannondales after riding mine and I know he'd just say BRING IT ON!! I have told Smitty about how we are and ride and I know he isn't gonna doubt what I'd say. I rode w/ him at Glamis on my Raptor. I have no reason to lie. I'm not bashing the Dale or the Z. You want equal riders that aren't brand loyal, that's us. I can say, how wonderful my Dale is, and how great it is, and nobody builds a better quad. I think we hear enough of what I own is the absolute best on any forum. I think being honest is more important....LOL
