A couple of questions
#1
How many mappings can you store at any given time on each model and how do you switch between them?
How does the Blaze mapping differ from the Moto440 or Speed?
Is it common/easy to configure for two mode (MX and XC)? What I am thinking is running one mapping for MX with a set of 18" rear and 19 or 20" fronts, and then another mapping to run 20" rears with 21" fronts. Will most likely change the front sprocket size too. Is this possible and does it make sense.
If money were no object, would the Blaze be a better dual purpose or would the Moto440?
I am too old (37) to race seriously and really have no desire to go into the 1st turn with a bunch of other quads, other than that I will jump further than most but not as far as some. I would try to clear an 80' tabletop but wouldn't even consider an 80' double if you know what I mean. Is the added 2" of front travel on the Moto440 that big of a difference on the track? Is the Moto440 setup a hindrance to XC racing and why?
I plan to start racing hare scrambles and continue riding mx tracks (but not racing). I weigh 190 lbs and am 6'5" tall. On either purchase, is it necessary to get the stock suspension setup revalved? I am pretty sure I can get the dealer to throw this in for free since they perform this service.
Thanks for any and all the help. Trying to make a decision on which quad is the right one for me. Not sure if I am keeping the Raptor as a play bike or not. Wanted to sell a 400ex but the girlfriend's son doesn't care much for the Raptor.

If you get the GP system you can store 3 differnt maps in your computer and switch them on the fly. They say the blaze is the best for hare scrambles but when i rode the moto that thing was the fastest bike ive ever ridden.

I would go with the Blaze for your intents and purposes.
I've seen way too many guys with +2 arms & +4 axles try to race XC - doesn't work, 50" is just too wide.
You can easily play ride at an MX track with stock width control arms (Blaze setup), but you can't be competitive at a XC race with a Moto setup. I've also cleared 80+ foot doubles with a stock control arm setup at the MX track.
For a dual purpose quad, I definitely think the Blaze would be a much better suitor.
If your dealer is competatant, I'd have him setup the shocks on the Blaze for you. That's the great thing with getting decent shocks from the factory, they may not be setup exactly for you out of the box, but at least they don't have to be replaced completely...
The ECM can store 3 maps. These are switchable via a handlebar switch setup sold by GP Control. I'm on my way to figuring out how they do it - seems pretty simple. Yes, what you are looking to do is possible and does make sense...

Thanks 86atc250r and NitroT for all the info. I didn't realize the GP control unit was an option or 3rd party purchase.
The Moto440 is out. I can't go for the additional travel for the sake of the extra width.
I might do a closer comparison between customizing a Speed versus the Blaze but most likely will go with the Blaze. I plan to purchase through ATV Addiction in Orrstown, PA. Hopefully this is a good choice. They have a track at the dealership so I can get another test ride in before buying (I was hurt for the last test ride so it was hard to get a feel for the suspension).
