No, one cc = one milliliter, check these conversion charts:

http://www.onlineconversion.com/volume.htm
http://school.discovery.com/homework...rt_volume.html
http://www.factmonster.com/ce6/sci/A0813058.html
http://www.peteducation.com/category...0&Cat=1305

One milliliter = 0.03382 fluid ounce
One quart = 946.4 milliliter

Dawzie,

That is just the oils that we use. The HP4 is not a full synthetic but a synthetic blend. Nothing wrong caused by using either.

The owner has been racing the 'Dale bikes since they were introduced using this oil and hasn't had any problems. Neither have I or any other 'Dale owners who purchased their machines from us. We run this oil in all of them.

Nothing wrong with what you are using either.

I have seen many posts here regarding oils and I don't think you will find more than two that run the same.

So the 10-30 is fine in the trans? I thought it needed to be 80 WT? Maybe Cannondale should just brand their own oil. Seriously they have only one engine across the line and I think they could get amsoil or someone to work with them on packaging.

I was told by my dealer and also read somewheres that 10w30 motor oil is the same as 85w gear oil. go figure? I went to www.amsoil.com and became a member. The prices are really good and it is a really good oil too. Placed my order and had it in two days.

I run Amsoil also. Really good stuff and its made a couple hours from me in a town where my mom grew up. Superior, WI. I love to support the economy there because there isnt a whole lot of busisness there compared to 10 years ago. I am going to give them a call and order up some gearbox oil and get the skinny. Thanks for the info.

Actually his dealer is correct, 85W gear oil in it's viscosity number is equivalent to an SAE 30 or 40 weight crank case oil. Check out the chart on this web site for yourself:

briansgi I did a little more digging and found another site that backs up that info. the viscositys are similar but just from experience have notice a big difference, especially the smell of the two oils, must have something to do with its detergents
