Well, I hope to have a solution to my tie rod end problem. Ricky Stator makes some TRX style tie rods and ends and is sending me some. I will be sure to let you all know if this works. Now to take care of the ball joints......JIM

JIM,
I may be wrong about this but I thought that the Cannondale tierod ends had a larger shank where they attach to the steering stem and spindle?? I know the Cannondale use much larger tierods than the Honda's but if you are using the Honda rod, this part shouldn't be a problem. I'm just still weary on the fitment of the spindle and stem.

I may be wrong like I said, and I hope I am since you ordered up some Honda's already.

Let us know how it goes. I feel your experiment is something everyone could benefit from regardless of the outcome.

There is another member here who tried something similar, but I can't recall his screen name. I'm not sure what he tried using, but they didn't work for the reason I just desribed as well. Maybe he'll chime in here.

Patrick,
I am getting the whole assembly; tie rods and ends. Ricky is also being VERY fair to me since I am trying them, I can't lose on the deal. I hope they work out, then all I have to worry about is the ball joints. JIM

That's great. Sounds like you might be on to something. I haven't tried this personally, so let us know how it works out.

They're open to the elements and need to be regreesed after every ride... in other words, they kind of suck.

Special,
Some of us have excessive play in our front ends and you can actually watch the tie rod ends and ball joints move.......JIM

My Tierods do the same thing, you can wiggle the bars back and forth and the wheels don't move!!!
Thinking about getting the Walsh A-Arms and the TieRods to go with it. Hope this will solve my problem.

the tie rod ends are the problem, not the tie rods themselves. I don't think just getting a new set of tie rods will help it. The a-arms/ball joint combo will help that part............JIM

My tie rod ends/ball joints have a little play but its been like that since day one.My fx400 was the same way. They never seamed to get any worse though.

Anyway I hope the Ricky stator ones are a fix.I dont have the $ for A-arms right now.
