Cannondale Engines..Here is the "bullet"proof
#1
As I mentioned a week or so ago, we were fielding a Cannondale team in the Perry Mountain 24 Hour Enduro Challenge.
Race is over.......Great results!!
The Cannondale team finished 6th OVERALL out of the 26 teams that showed up. We were the only Cannondale team in attendance. We ran an E440 model.
Our team consisted of 6 riders. Total mileage that we raced was just shy of 500 miles.
Engine is still running as smooth as it did before the race. 24 Hours of hauling @$$ didn't stop it.
There were however, KTMs, Huskys, GasGas, Yamahas, and Kawasakis, dead everywhere. Most didn't even make it into the second day.
What's even more astounding is the fact that this E440 has been in over a dozen hare scramble races PRIOR to the 24 hour race this year already!!!

Don't remember the actual rankings of the other teams, but I do recall KTM having 3 of the Top 5 spots. I THINK there was a Kawasaki KDX200 somewhere in there as well.
KTMs pretty much made up almost 80% or more of the entries.
When Canondale gets the weight down a bit more, the E440 will be much more suited for the woods. They are great now, but would be even better if they could shed about 15 pounds from them.
That's the ONLY factor that most bike riders tend to scare away from when considering purchasing a Cannondale bike. Cannondale is supposed to already be working on this i hear. When they get the weight down a bit, the bike sales will improve dramtically.
