Well i just talked to a mechanic at my local Cannondale dealer ad he said they are having alot of Cannondales coming with bad Rectifyer regulators and appearently this makes the battery go dead and spark plugs to foul. Has anyone heard anything about this or had thiers replaced?

I'm not sharp shooting you but the info the teck told you does not make sence a rectifier changes ac to dc no ac on the quad that i know of.
regulator does controle the amount of amps a patulular circuit can draw and voltage supplies are funny they will kill then selves try too live up to the job.

Fredinpa, you might want to take a look at this:

http://www.cannondale.com/motorsports/tech/sbull.html

Scroll down and review bulletin SBA01-12. Rectifier/regulator jumper installation. In this bulletin, Cannondale always refers to this component as a rectifier/regulator. So the component may not be a rectifier in the true sense but this is how Cannondale references this component so the mechanic was relaying the correct information then.

BTW, the current that comes from the stator is AC; that's where the rectifier part comes in.
