What do most of you have for ECM's in your quads. I have the Sagem 500 in my Can, and the MC 1000 in my speed?

Do you do your own tuning and S.B's?

AAAHHHHHH,

Not the 500 - 1000 which is better we've all gone around on (CORNDOG).

CDALE,

You can have other maps loaded into the 500.

I have the 1000 in my Speed.

500 here and no problems at all.

You CAN change the mapping, you just can't load a map designed for the 1000 [RE:Moto] and you can't increase the RPM limit.

I race harescrambles so neither mod would benefit me anyway.

Mine was mapped for an increase in smooth power, but it still has a stronger pull in the midrange than the stocker.

Hey Patrick or anyone who knowssomething,
I'm gonna get my 'bull to the dealer this week and am wondering about optimizing the injector settings on my 500ECU. Does the dealer calibration software work on both the 500 and 1000? What specific settings should we be looking at? Dealer is a good guy but still doesn't have much (any) experience working with the software. thanks for any help!

Your dealer has to have the tool to program the 500 it can adjust the fuel mixture in the low,mid and top range. If you want the high rpm limit you need the bike version.Dealer cal doesnt work on the 500.There is also a allen screw on the 500ecm this will make entire range richer or leaner.
would like to see someone with 500ecm race against cannible with 1000 I could be wrong but I think 500 was a tad harder pulling than cannible map.

thanks for the reply c'dale27. can you describe where to find that allen screw? Sounds like an easy way to lean it out. I think i'm a bit rich based on the plug and some smoking. I have dragged with and ridden 2 1000 cannibals. One had an HMF with moto map(hated it) and he only had a little bit over me. I think he was shifting late. The other was stock with the round pipe and was about a half length faster and pulling. Of course, my quad had couple hundred more hours than either of those. I don't care anything about the higher rev limit. Is there any power up there anyway?

Hey Guys, dont mess with the Screw on the ECM. The Screw sets your idle mixture and your off idle fuel trim only . A 8th to a 1/4 of a turn makes quite a change in air fuel ratio. This should only be done on a Dyno. The 1000 system does not have this external screw.

Cant argue with the cannondale guru on the fx400's we would richen it up by turning the screw. They started lot better probably did only effect idle and low end.Sorry its been a while since I've worked on the 500ecm.
