crack in motors - major problem

At my old job i made cast titanium parts and they can find these inclusion by X-ray

You can also ultrasonic test them, I used to do NDT. I don't think Cannondale cast their own blocks though.

My dealer finally got to talk to cannondale and they are shipping out a new motor for my bike tomorrow.

cannondale does not cast their own blocks, they have two different suppliers, that is why some of the cases come with the tranny fluid window and some come with the bolt. According to the western states cannondale rep I talked to when my motor puked oil.

It would be really cool if the did the lost foam injection method, I believe thats what it's called. Johnson outboard motors are done that way. You get alot closed tolerances.
