crack in motors - major problem
#1
MY bike got a crack in the motor up next to the battery on the right side. It happened about a 1 or 2 inches back from where there motor mount is. I noticed it because it started leaking oil. Everything was tight, the motor as never been pulled out or any mods to it. I talked to my dealer just a couple of miles away and he had a brand new speed with a crack in the motor the same place as mine and they are shipping a new motor out for that bike. My bike is 3 months old and the dealer has not talked to cannondale to see what they want to do. But they have better replace the motor or the bike because i don't want to be with out my bike for the rest of the summer!!!!
Has anyone esle had this problem and if so what did they do about it?

Damn dude, I've NEVER heard of that happening. I'm not calling you a liar or anything, but it's just weird that all these weird things that you barely ever hear about happening, the guy says, "I went to my local dealer and the guy said he had a ------ with the same problem". Once again, I'm not calling you a liar, I have no reason to believe you are, it's just weird that I always hear that.

I was just in the Florence shop this weekend and saw your Dale. In fact, I now have a piece of your quad on mine! I was down for the week from the Tri-Cities and broke my coil on Friday. I went down to that shop to see what I could do and the owner didn't even hesitate and gave me the coil off of your quad. He said it had a cracked motor and was waiting for a new one. I couldn't believe it. I thought I was going to have to sit in camp for two more days with all of the accompanying ridicule. The owner bent over backwards for me and I got the impression that he is very dedicated to the Cannondales and will treat you right. Anyway, that was a nice looking quad, and at least if you can't ride it right now, know that it saved my butt 7 hours away from home. I am in debt to you. BTW, it cost me $50.00!

I don't have any pics of it. I bought it here in florence and he is taking care of me, I haven't heard back yet on it hopefully tomorrow. This is the truth the dealer showed the crack on the speed he had there. I looked at it and it was exaclty where it was on my bike. I saw it for myself.

That wasn't my bike, that is the other bike that has the crack in it. I brought mine home until the dealer finds out what is going to happen with it. He is a very nice guy and really goes the extra mile for the customer.
