I drag raced my cannibal for the first time at a 100 yard track. It had start lights and timers and all the goodies. I outran everything i raced except for other cannondales. I have the hmf pipe and the moto map. One guy beat me four times without a pipe or map. Someone told me that he had replaced his front gear with a fourteen tooth so he could pull out in third gear. Would this make it that much better than me. What can I do to beat him next weekend. Assuming we are of equal skill level?

I ran quite a few races and my average time was 6.57 with my best time at 6.34. The track got pretty bad late in the night and everybody had a hard time getting a good holeshot.

What were you racing on? Dirt? Sand? Pavement?
In a 100 yard sand drag my piped raptor does 6.15 with me on it (275 lbs) & 5.70 with a smaller rider.

We were racing on dirt, but at the start line there were two holes dug and there was no grip. Nobody was running very much faster and I raced almost everything there.

Need additional info, what tires are you running front & rear and what size? what gear are you ending in and at what range ( 5th half, full, beginning, etc) I am assuming you have standard sprocket front and rear. What do you have your suspension set at? What gear are you taking off in?

A friend of mine strictly drag races his Cannibal on 100 yard dirt tracks. His setup is; Aftermarket pipe, a remap, shorter front shocks to lower the front end, 44 tooth rear sprocket with stock countershaft sprocket, either the stock 20 inch hole shots or 22 inch Pro wedge tires depending on the track.

He has run in the 5's at 70 something MPH before but I can't remember the exact time or speed. I can find out though.

I'm running the stock 20 inch holeshots in back and the stock 21 inch up front. I am taking off in second and I am at the beginning of fourth at the finish. I do have the standard sprockets. I have the front shocks set all the way soft and the rear about half way.

I would appreciate if you could find out what gear he starts in and get a few tips for me. I have heard that some guys I run start in third. There is no way I could do that with my current set up. I have to start in second. I have been riding for a long time, but I am fairly new at drag racing.
