I wanna give XC racing a try and I was wondering where some of yall race at in the Miss., Ark, Louisiana, area? I'm not giving up on MX, I just want to "broaden my horizons" and see how I like cross country.

The biggest is the MidSouth series, but they run alot of races into KY and beyond, so it's hard to make all of the races if you aren't up to all the traveling.

Me, EdSmith, reconbasher, and liftkit [forum members] race the Memphis motorcycle club series and some of them also race a GNCC now and then along with a few Arkansas series races.

You can get more info from these two sites.....

Knowsalot...it looks like they aren't having the Mid-Sout race down by you this year! It stinks, that was one of my favorite tracks last year.

jeffatTQS,

Yeah, I know. I really liked the Saulsbury course too. Oh well....It will be in the Memphis series once they get their schedule up. They are having 6 races this year. I will be going to all of them.

The only Mid South event that I know for sure that I will attend is the one in January in Maplesville, AL.

Thats a pretty good track but a little fast in places. Has a few good creek crossings.

I race the Arkansas Harescramble Championship Series. We got guys that
come from Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. You should check us
out. So far I'm the only 'dale rider

RatSoup,

A friend of mine mentioned that there were only 1 Cannondale rider in the Arkansas series. I guess that would be you.

My friend ran the last one you had on a green Kawasaki Mojave. He hit a boulder in the first lap giving him a DNF.

I have thought about running some of trhe Arkansas races, but nothing ever came together for me to make the drive.

Mike,
The closest the mid-south comes to us is new hope alabama. I wanted to check out some of the arkansas hare scrambles this year, maybe even one with knowsalot too.

The GNCC goes to macon in march wich isn't all that far as well.

You would absolutely love XC, alot funner than mx. It's so much mind over body and strategy. Not to mention you can't practice prior to the races so it's pure rider.

Give me a shout maybe we could hook up for the winter series and split the expense of travel, or what ever.

Louisiana has a hare scramble series that covers louisiana, mississippi and alabama, but bikes only, talk about suck.

Gaff,

That Maplesville, AL race will probably be closer to you than New Hope. Like JeffatTQS said, it's a little fast, but last year was the first year I raced it, and it was more than a little MUDDY!
