motor locked up

Time out! What's the definition of "locked up"? Locked up as in it won't start or won't run or locked up as in the motor is physically unable to turn over, even by hand cranking it?
If we're talking about locked up meaning it won't run after a remap than I could possibly understand but what would a remap have to do with the piston suddenly being welded to the cylinder? I mean, you don't exactly ride a perfectly good Dale into a dealership, hook it up to a PC, download the map and then hit the start button to find out your motor suddenly doesn't turn over. And what modifications was he attempting on his own?

Hey now, Pennsylvania is not that far from bye god Wes Virginy. You better watch what you say to us country boys, you might just be in our neck of the woods sometime and we might make fun of your big city talk. About the guys motor that locked up. I talked to the mechanic at the dealer Sat. and he said that the crank was locked up solid. I think they sent it to cannondale for a replacement.
