Default Spindle removal?

I'm putting aftermarket a-arms on my speed but I can't get the ball joints to break loose from the spindle. Has anyone had this problem?

Default Spindle removal?

Nrath and I changed mine a few weeks ago, heres how we did it:

lay our 2 2x4s in a T with the 4" side up
place the spinles on the boards to keep the spindle off the ground and the shaft free
place a 3rd board (about 1' long) upright on top of the shaft
hit the top of the board with a small sledge hammer until the spindle breaks free.

May not be the ideal way to do it but it worked for us with no damage to the spindles.

1)I take some nuts of correct size thread them on but not tight (this protects threads).
2)find a bolt that just fits in the space between the two studs put a nut on the bolt.
3)Put the bolt with the nut in between the studs turn the nut on this bolt out this will force one or the other balljoint studs loose which ever one comes loose remove it.
4)Find a longer bolt that will fit in the space repeat the process.

Sometimes you might have to grind a bit off the side of the bolt head to get it to stay. You will need to keep the nut on spindle from turning and the head of bolt you made while turning the nut.Three wrenches.
Its worth the effort last time I checked joints were $80 pounding sometimes will send the joint right out the back popping off that backing plate.

Did you use that technique on 'dale spindles? I see you have a moto front, so you may have.

The ball joints are no where near in line on the spindles. That means your not going to be pushing straight out on the ball joint, resulting in one of 2 things- the ball joint pops out or the ball joint bends. Possibly bending a little before popping out.

You could use a 3 jaw puller on the top one, but not the bottom one- that's the hard one!

Anyone ever had any feedback from Cannondale on how to get the out?

the best way i found to get them off is to tap on the spindle. when your pulling up on the a-arm .
as for the lower i just do the same as i pull up on it.

After trying everything I called Kyle at R&S and he said just tap on the spindle. I gave it one pretty hard hit and it came right off and did not hurt anything.
