I see that the word "ATV" threw off some, but even the three wheelers have always fallen under the category of All Terrain Vehicle. The term All Terrain Cycle was Honda's term recognizing the machine, but not the general term for three wheelers. [Yamaha, Suzuki...etc]
OK.........
[1] 1968.......... Honda........... ATC 90...........Japan.
[This model came to the United States in 1969 as a 1970 model called the U.S.90.......then in 1974, took the name of ATC90 like Japan had called it from the beginning.]
[2] The first company to offer the CVT tranny was based out of Louisiana in late 1970s. They had a three wheeler called a Rambler that was powered by a B&S 8HP engine with a seperate CVT tranny. Many guys [REolaris guys] will argue that this tranny was actually a torque converter like the Honda Odyssey used, but it was not. The company did well with the machine for about two years. After honda released the 185 and 200 models, their business went belly up. [Who would've thought??...LOL]
[3] All you guys got this right. This was just an age verification question........LOL
