Let's figure this out

There were no implemented changes on any of the LE models except for the current recall on the shocks. Cannondale is allowing dealers to install Ohlins from another model on them if they happen to sell them, but only until the updated Arvin's have been sent to the dealer and then they take the Ohlins back and send the dealers new Ohlins to replace them. Sounds stupid, but Cannondale is not throwing in Ohlins to fix the shock problem........only temporarily to allow the rider to ride.
All LE models have Arvin fronts and Ohlins rear.
The other Cannibals have Fox rear and Arvin fronts.
The only implemented changes on the 2003 standard Cannibals are that now they come with the cheaper Carlisle tires. You can see a pic on these on Cannondale's website. They do not resemble the Holeshot.

Has anyone gotten anywhere with the Arvin recall? My dealer said he has talked to Cannondale but no word on when they will be sending out rebuild kits. Does any one know what the front Ohlins cost that are on the Speed...(no ressy's) I forgot to ask my dealer while there tonight. I am going to see if I can maybe get a credit rather than the rebuild kit and put that towards upgrading to the Ohlins. However to be honest I feel the Arvin's really are not too bad of a shock for a stock unit. I would much rather have matching shocks on both ends though.
I have this week installed the new ITP T-9 pro-series Beadlock Aluminum rims with Holeshot 23" XCT fronts and 22" XCT rears. Looking forward to running them this weekend at the Iron Man. I have rode them this week and I like them so far....they are big though. The fronts seem heavy but really turn nice, the rears are a little aggressive , just stay on the throttle hard and they will slide around pretty decent. I wont re-gear has it actually feels right/good even though the rears are a couple inches taller. The rims seem very tough and durable. I don't think I will have any problems with this combo. My stockers ( wheels/tires) look like they went through WWIII after the ST. Clairsville GNCC, although I did not have any flats.

Tarrat,
Cannondale will be sending dealers complete new shocks to replace the recalled ones, not rebuild kits. The dealers will then send back the old shocks to Cannondale.
Cannondale will not honor Ohlins in exchange for the Arvins, but will give credit towards the price difference between the two. You will need to contact your dealer about this because prices can vary from dealer to dealer.
When we spoke to them last about the shock recall last week, there was still no estimated date on when the updated shocks will be sent to dealers. When they do begin shipping, they are shipped in order of the sold units first, then will begin shipping for models still on showroom floors.

mountainman10,
I would have to look that up. I haven't ever had anyone wanting them. Not that they are bad, but usually if someone is going to spend money on shocks, they go ahead and get the stuff that's a bit better.
Works aren't the best out there, but you can buy a set of triple rates for the Cannondales for $425 and with no waiting time.
I will look the Ohlins and Arvins up tomorrow and post back if someone else doesn't chime in before then.

Hey Thanks,
yea that's right, my dealer did say that it would be a new shock, but I think they will re-use my springs. I will check the price from him on the Ohlins though I think I will go that route. I am planning on sticking with the 4-STR Stock class and they do not allow ressy's....thanks for the info...
