If I sold my 400ex for a used 01 cannibal would it be reliable. I have heard the flywheels break on them along with ball joints. If I bought a cannibal and the flywheel broke or something happened, would cannondale fix it for free?

 

The flywheel problem was with the first model released the FX400 same with the ball joints. Any 02 won't have these problems.

love250x- In my opinion I dont think you will have any serious problems with the C-dale that you wouldnt have with any other quad. Be prepared for the C-dale to rip a lot harder than your 400ex though!

 

If the title says it's an 01, then it might have more problems then an 02. The 01's were all silver FX400's.

 

OK now that I know it would be worth the trade, how much is a new flywheel? Will cannondale pay for it if it breaks and I had purchased it used?

I bought a Speed that was honestly 2 weeks new/old and broke in but only 3 hours on it. The guy needed the cash so I nabbed it for a great price. The only problem, is that the warranties are not transferable. Sorry. I am a bit in luck though because the Dale dealer is two buildings down from my business. Get the Dale.

 

You should be able to take it to any dealer and have the upgrades done. Upgrades are not warrenty so this should be no problem.
