Default Descision....need help from Cannondale riders!

I'm trying to descide what I should do, maybe you guys could help me out a little. I currently have a '92 Quadracer that is set up for MX but needs a clutch job. It's sitting in the shed collecting dust. I also have '01 Raptor that has less than 20 hours on it also. My question is this, are the Cannondale Moto's really a race ready quad? I have had several other Quadracers and TRX 250R's in the past that were race ready, but never totally setup with aftermarket chassis'. Is the moto a trully ready to race and hang with the 250R's, and is it worth the price?
I am thinking about selling the Raptor and the trusty old Quadracer to get down to one quad......I guess you can never have enough toys! I also have access to my brothers 400EX which already has +2" A-arms and a +4" axle. I would really like to have just one quad that is capable of handling MX aggressivly. Maintenance is not really that big of an issue to me, and I am by no means new to the sport.
I'm sure the Moto would handle much better than my Quadracer, and the Raptor would take a huge amount of money to be competitive on the MX circuit. I haven't raced in a few years now, but I would like to get into practicing at the tracks again and possibly start racing again in the future.
What do you guys think, is the Moto worth it, or would a Cannible or Speed suffice with the needed modifications. Any input would be appreciated!

I would buy a Cannibal and add the performance parts yourself. It will be cheaper and you will have higher grade components. I bought my used Speed with 5 hours for $5950.

the moto is a out of the box racer. we have raced and beat 250r's 440 ex's, a yz 426 motored quad, a crf 450 honda motored quad. mxmike bought a speed and added all the goodies and he will tell you it aint a moto. get the moto, you wont be sorry.

Thanks for the input fella's.

markvette - I've been following the forums and noticed that your son races the Moto - also, sorry to hear about his recent injury, hope he gets well soon. I have a question for you. What should I expect to pay for a Moto. The nearest dealer to me is in Lafayette, La. only about 25 miles from the house, but I haven't seen a moto in person. They have a Cannibal there though. I am just feeling this thought out, I'm not 100% sure that I will buy one, but considering that option. The moto seems to be worth the money once you factor in how much it would take to get any other quad to be competitive.

I agree the moto is set up for and doesn't need anything to race it. If your into customizing a quad and setting it up your way buy the cannibal and set-up for motocross instead. If you want something you can buy and just race and not have to add anything go with the moto. You should be able to get a new one for less than retail OTD. If your interested in staying with a 2-stroke you might want to look into the new GasGas. It's pretty much race ready for motocross, just needs a steering damper and maybe different tires and rims. The big thing the Cannondale has though is the unheard of factory support. I say sale the Quadracer & Raptor and pick up a cannondale.

The way it looks to me is that I should check int getting a Moto, you guys should be salesmen for Cannondale. LOL. I plan on selling my Quadracer regardless, and was debating on fixing up the Raptor, but it is an '01 and even though I haven't had any trouble with it yet the tranny curse scares me, besides that, it would cost me as much and probably more than just buying a Moto to fix it up the way I'd want it. I have heard nothing but good about Cannondale's customer support also. At least they seem to care about their customers much more than the big 4 do.

Markvette - hopefully I will see ya'll in New Iberia on Jan. 5th. I haven't been to the track in a while so I need to go check out all my old riding buddies and see how they're doing too. Thanks again for the info.
