Default Gettin a Blaze...I think

I am pretty sure i am going to trade my 400ex and cash for a practically new Blaze. It has about 30 minutes on it and still needs to finish the breakin procedure. I am pretty pumped to say the least. Couple questions. What are the differences between the different maps (Cannibal, Speed, Blaze, and Moto)? How much HP to the rear tires for the Blaze? Also, can I buy some of that suhweet black plastic for it? Or should I wait to see what the fullbore looks like?
Thanks.

Yes you can get the black plastic and power at the rear wheels is around 40 hp. The cannibal map has the rev limit set at 10,600 and is the most tame of the three(but definetly not slow). The speed raises the rev limit to 11,600 and has a stronger top end compared to the cannibal. The blaze is set up for woods racing with a strong, broad, smooth power curve. The moto map is set up for mx racing and it hits hard from top to bottom and gives an instant hit at a touch of the throttle. I have the moto map and hmf full pipe right now and it definetly is a lot faster than the cannibal map with stock silencer.

Hey mountainman,
Do you know if the blaze has the handlebar controls to remap on the fly? I thought I read in one of the mags that the moto and blaze had this, but can't remember exactly for sure. I think I would want the moto map for where I ride.

I'm not mountainman, but I can tell you it doesn't have the GP controls.

Personally, I'd stay away from the black plastic. It's not going to hold up too well. The shine won't last very long in woods/trail riding. My side covers are waisted from my legs rubbing them. Limbs and such will do the same thing to the fenders.

Good Luck on the trade, wish it were me!

Hey that sounds sweet how did you manage that? I hope we all get to ride again soon when you came out last time I had a blast even though there where just 3 of us.

The rev limit is 11,600 on all cannondales except for the cannibal. Do a search on mapping. there is plenty of good info out there. The main diff. between the blaze map and the moto map will be noticed below 5000 rpms and at small throttle openings. the mapping is very similar otherwise.
