Heres what i found in my email earlier from a buddy ...i was wondering WTF? now i guess i know now............................Well, I am sure many of you have heard the news/rumor that Cannondale motorsports may very well soon be a flash in the fire. Obviously many of us Dale owners hope that isnt the case but it looks possible to say the least.
So what is next? Is fuel injection and aluminum frame the primary items that separte Dale from the big four (five if you include Polaris)?
Look at all the Dale owners that still went and purchased a-arms, shocks, axles, bars, tires, wheels, etc., etc. People love to mod. They love it.
I still dont personally believe we will ever see a major manufacturer product a quad like Dale. I say that in a neutral way, not positive or negative. What does a manufacturer have to gain and what do they have to lose?
The fact remains that it is a business about making lots of money. Period. Forget name recognition for who has the biggest, baddest and fastest. We all know that a bit of blitz marketing and the support of magazines, dealerships and brand biased will put plenty of quads on tracks and more importantly in garages of weekend warriors.
So it looks like a beefed up, pimped out, modded all to he|| 1988 TRX250R doesnt should so bad afterall does it?

This does sound bad but......I'm about 30 mins from the factory and in this area layoffs are very common during the winter months. I believe that this is all that this is. yes the biggest loss is in the motorsports section for them but for a company starting out with a new product you will get a big loss but their ATV sales are rising and I believe that this is just a minor speed bump they are encountering and they will come back. By the way I just went down to order a right side case cover for my buddies 250R for christmas and I was told by four different dealers that that part is now DISCONTINUED (luckily one had one in stock) Is this the first step in the fall of the 250R? I doubt it. Just hang in there and I'm sure this will all work out (hopefully)

Engineering and building the most fearsome dirt riding system in the world took a lot of time and a lot of cash. Too bad there were too many people who wanted to support foreign manufacturers. I guess they get their paychecks from the foreigners so that's why they bought their product.
We are American, buy American engineered and manufactured products!! It's time we support the home team!! Spread the word!!

Even if and this is a big IF cannondale were to selloff or close the motorsports business I believe that they would somehow find a way to take care of its customers. When I bought my quad I knew I was taking a risk in it and I have never regretted it even if they were to fold I still own a classic which is the best and would never quite be satisfied with any lesser quad what really ticks me off is the bean counters not understanding and giving them the chance to grow I want all the new ideas that cannondale has coming in the future and I dont believe any other company can match cannondales drive to be the best.

They may be taking a hit but they are also putting more time into R&D like carbon axles and 450cc motors. If they thought they would go under then they would not be doing that. I hate when people talk about a company going under they will if every one talks about them going out. I always speak highly of my bike, i love it to death, yes there is some down sides, but i could of not got a better bike!
