.....ATV sales were good through this "sluggish" economy, but I am afraid that it is finally catching up with us.
.....Hopefully Cannondale, and everyone else, will weather the storm, and will be there when the economy turns around. So many other industries, especially marine, have been hit hard, again and again.
Cannondale is at least making money with their bicycles, and ATV sales are pretty soft in the dead of winter, at least after Christmas.
......But this is still not good news for anyone. Other manufacturers could take it as a signal to stop or slow new projects or delay releases of new models. Thankfully we have a lot of new quads to choose from, we are in a lot better shape than we were just two years ago, and that has all been fueled by sales.
......I'm opening a new shop in this sluggish economy, my only competitor has just gotten Cannondale. It's a Harley custom shop, and he couldn't get any of the japanese or mainstream franchises. I did. But I want to see him succeed. What is good for him is good for me. And that goes for everybody in this game. What is bad for Cannondale is bad for everybody.
.....Here's to Cannondale just having an extra nice Christmas vacation and everybody having a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Markvette - I just bought a 84' Chevy Silverado, blue and grey. It has a 350 in it w/ about 40-45,000 miles on it. Good thing is, w/ the money I got from insurance, it's completely payed for so the Dale isn't goin anywhere . Bad thing is, Christmas, crappy gas mileage, not a lot of work, and a girlfriend seem to be a bad combination on my wallet and I don't ever have enough money to race or even practice . I wish we could post pics here... I'll send you a link or something sometime on MSN Messenger.

They have to buckle down and pay off a loan right now, but they're not closing the doors or anything in the near future. Cannondale is in it for the long run. We where assured this.

We'll see a couple more high caliber riders on Cannondales this up coming race season, and some GREAT updates to the quads. Good times are ahead for Cannondale, don't even worry about this issue, they won't let this motorsports division die.

That is definitely one harsh article. I would like to see Cannondale make some money to ensure they stick around. I would like to here what they have to say about all this because it sure sounds bad.

I have to agree with American Badass.... Cannondale wouldn't be working on other parts (carbon fiber axle, redesigned swing arm, and looking for more ways to save weight) if they thought they were going to close down the factory. Companies can see these things coming before we even hear about it, and they wouldn't have "waisted" the money on these new parts if they thought they were going to sell out.

This is standard business practice when trying to pay down debt. Remember they have stock holders to answer to also, me being one of them. Overall this doesn't sound good but they have securred new capitol to help them through this difficult time. Most important of all, Let's not forget the late great ****-ons have made this economy what it is.

No offense Dub, could we leave the politics off this board? Please.

When I invested in my quad I knew I was in it for the long haul and I will totally stand behind C-dale right now. Even if they are going thru rough times, I believe that a great future is not far ahead. How could they build such an awesome bike and NOT have plans for the future? I can't wait to see what they come out with next. (Hopefully some more goodies for the Moto!)
