i have the new dirtwheels and in the shoot out with ds650, banshee, raptor, z-400.....The moto scored last in alot of areas... the ds even beat it on suspension.....????????? I dont know if the dirtwheels crew was in the right state of mind....did anyone see this??

We've already had several discusions on this Lame Article. I've riden or have owned all of these bikes. Currently have two 03 LE Cannondales a Banshee and a 250R, Two weeks ago I rode my buddies Tricked out DS and another buddies ppiped and air box kit Z400. I was glad to get Back on my Cannondale after riding these other bikes. My Cannodale is about as close to a moto Without being a moto as you can get. The only things I don't have are the magniesium hubs and Gafer Rotors. There was so much screwed up information in that article it's amazing that these guys get paid to do it. The other bikes are nice bikes, but things from spec's being totally wrong, to lame choices such as useing the moto againest these bikes to adding stupid options to the moto like a new seat cover and air scoops, which were a total waste of money, then to complain about the cost? Go figure? All I know is I wouldn't trade my bike for two of the others. Ride hard because you have the best bike to do so!!

 

Yea, I like how they compared all the bike as if they were comparing apples to apples and then they complain about the high price tag of the motto. Dumb@ss's!!!!!!! Why don't they use a cannibal which would be a little more comparable to the rest of the machines. The only reason that the ds won is because of the length of suspension. Now that doesn't mean that the fox shocks are better than the ohlins on the motto. What pisses me off is the lack of enthusiasm of an american made machine over the rest of the bikes from Dirt Wheels. They aren't stupid, they know what they are doing, but why they are doing it is beyond me. The whole article doesn't make sense to me. "We're doing a showdown of four or five machines in the sand but couldn't get the Glamis so we opted for the #12,500 motto which is over priced from the rest of the machines." Well NO ****!!!!!!!!!! Why don't they do a comparison of mx machines. Oh, I almost forgot. There is only one made. And who makes it?! Just my .02.

 

haulin- Your exactly right. Its like having a shoot out between a Camaro Z-28, Ford Mustang, and Pontiac Trans Am. The only thing is they couldnt get the Trans Am so they opted to get a Dodge Viper in its place. DW is crazy!!!!

I think all these bikes are great in there own rite but DW does not show that. The people that ride will see that this is wrong but the green ridders will not. At least they were using the top of the line bike this time. I see it as pitting a lawn tractor with a top fuel dragster. Yeah the dragster cant doing anything for your lawn, nor can the lawn tractor top 15mph. Yes the both move you and have four wheels but that were it ends. I loved how they cant get the Glamis so they go for a motocross bike. I thing the mags are a bunch of bs and I buy them for the pics. Yeah all the bikes out are good in there own ways but the mags need to get out of bed with the big four and try the new girl on for size. I was looking back in old DW and the adds sure have gone up sence cannon. I think the big four are getting scared. I love this also because on the next trip to glamis I will be able to hand it to Z400s who think there hot stuff. I know there is always a better and faster bike but stock for stock nothing can beat a cannon.
