Default help please!!!

I finally got to go ride the dale the other day after it sat for about a month and a half. It seemed to be running just fine except I noticed the motor making a little more noise than normal, kind of like a high pitch noise. It rode fine for about an hour or so, and then me and a friend of mine ran into each other but as soon as that was done I started it up and was riding back to the truck and I started to give it a little hell and it just died like I turned the key off, when I would try to start it it would sometimes startfor a couple of seconds and just stop like the motor just froze, and sometimes I would hit the start and it would just click like the starter couldn't turn the motor. The battery seems to be at full charge because the fan would run and when the mtor would turn over the starter ran just fine. when it would turn over little flames would shoot out of the silencer.
