putting clutch back together
#1
I just checked the allen screws in my motor and i'm putting the clutch back on but it is not going on far enough to grab the clutch plates. The set screw is backed up all the way so I can't figure out why it isn't fitting right on.

By not removing the clutch basket, which would require splitting the motor, I could only actually remove three. I put red locktite on them. Two of them were snug but one of them was very loose. the top of it was sitting against the clutch basket. I noticed it right away because the top of the bolt was sheered down to the bare metal. The engraved numbers were barely visable. I could see two more but couldn't even touch one of them. I checked the other with a ball end allen wrench since it was on such an angle. Everything went back together good but when we did MOTOWN's bike, we couldn't get his pressure plate back on right. Besides that everything was easy. Just be careful not to loose the ball bearing that comes out of the middle of the pressure plate when you remove it.

Fatassfive,
I checked mine yesterday, got on the quad this morning and the clutch wouldn't engage, sounds like the same problem your having.
I pulled it back apart and realized that I had left one of the friction plates on the pressure plate and it wasn't on the teeth and was blocking the pressure plate from going all the way on. Does that make sense, kinda hard to explain. If it's not going on far enough to even put the springs back on, turn the bearing in the center and it will align the spines.
All my bolts where tight BTW.
