What update kit or system is everyone using??

Default What update kit or system is everyone using??

Just curious what stud update kit or system everyone is using?? I am waiting on the stage 8 info. Itdoes look the most promising..

I wasn't aware that there was more than one kit for the crank case stud update. I just took mine to the dealer and they had it done.

Default What update kit or system is everyone using??

I'm waiting on the stage8 design as well. A few people say the Cannondale stud update isn't that great because the threads are sloppy and the only thing holding the stud in is loctite. SBM wasn't satisfied with the Cannondale update either so they have their own method as well.

The choices so far:

1. Reuse stock bolts. Clean holes and reloctite.
2. Cannondale Stud update. Only 6 of 9 crankcase bolts.
3. Do #1 above but drill and safety wire bolts.
4. Stage 8 bolts and clips. All crankcase and tranny bolts. Maybe others too.
5. SouthBay Moto redrill and tap for larger studs.
