Default Being part of the solution...

I came accross an article today on teh CNN website talking about BLM's money woes after a federal mandate to steer funding away from conservation programs, and place their time and talents towards supporting efforts to survey land under their control for use in oil and energy exploration.
The article goes on to say that their efforts to protect priceless artifacts/hyroglyphs etc from "Off Road Vehicles" is putting these priceless items at risk.
Just wondering if anyone out there sees the same opportunity to do some good, while getting to ride areas probably closed off to normal ATV traffic. If interested parties were to offer their services to explore and document these treasures.. I wonder how the BLM would respond.
It certainly sounds like an opportunity to get some positive media coverage, and change some attitudes towards our sport while we do some good at the same time. I suspect the majority of ATV enthusiast support conservation efforts as much asn anyone else... and would find it a lot of fun....
Any takers locally interested in facilitating this?
What do you think about the idea as a whole?
