I own about eighty five acres of land in the outskirts of Maryland. I am too busy to take care of the property personally. I want leads about good land management consultants who can advise me on how to put the land to good use so that I can also earn something out of it. Any clues?

Nida: Details....What is the topography like, is it wooded? If so, what species are growing, what general size are they, and when was it last logged? How far from civilization, etc. Any water on the property? How close are your nearest neighbors? What's the zoning?

I take it since you're asking you have some money to work with. Whatever you do, it's not going to be cheap. Might be able to get a sizable tax break if you put it into some working (timber) status and come up with a forest management plan. -No idea what Maryland has for tree farm type operations.

Jamini: Do you work for these folks? This BioHaven concept is pretty cool.

jaminiJK--You do sound like you own this company, but I checked them out and that BioHaven's concept does sound interesting. I live on a lake that could use some of that kind of help. It sounds expensive though.
