ATV ban in Ogden NY

Farming is allowed.
I spoke with the town clerk today. This all started with kids on dirt bikes riding all hours of the day and night. Both sides went to mediation. The dirt bike riders refused to compromise. Only yakes one clown to ruin it for the rest of us!

Sooooo... you think its fair to ban everyone instead of the people responsible??? Hmmmmmm..... I hope thats not what your trying to say, but thats how it reads. Do you ride a dirt bike?

Yes, I do. A two stroke with a quiet, spark arrested muffler. Much quieter than the guys who ride YFZ450s with megaphone mufflers.
I wasn't saying that you should ban everyone, I was asying that they shouldn't ban ANYONE. You may think that banning dirtbikes would be a good idea, but once you ban them, banning quads will be right behind. and then snowmobiles behind that.
They shouldn't be allowed to ban anyone. Letting them have an inch is not the solution because they can't be trusted, and will take a mile as soon as they get that inch.

The Town Clerk is misleading you. We live in Ogden, own seven acres and our house backs up to the power lines. We have the WORST neighbors! They expect to give us a list of rules to follow. This neighborhood met with the Chief of Police, Two sergants and the Town Attorney with a reasonable compromise. THE NEIGHBORS refused - they only want prohibition for the entire community. We live on a private drive so they feel they can dictate the rules. Just because we had a large turnout opposing this law DOES NOT mean it is over. The Town Supervisor is still seeking to place restrictions on people riding on their own property. So look for the new proposals coming up. We cannot let this one slip through.
