You should have read-up on your local laws before you rode. But like everyone has already told you laws change from county to county and officer to officer. Readymix lives in Indiana as do I but trust me if I took a ride on the shoulder of the road in my county chances are the first cop that passed me would probably give me grief. But I've also heard of guys that scoot down the road and they say the cops don't even give them a second glance. Best bet is wear your helmet, make sure your stickers are up-to-date, carry insurance, and most of all don't be stupid. Everything we do reflects on our sport, one bad incident leaves a pretty healthy black-eye on the rest of us. Stay safe and have fun!
