Well Needed Opposition to Federal 'Wild Lands' Policy Grows

Here's the latest in the back and forth fight for use of public lands!

I don't have a problem with conserving some land in it's natural state, but I'm not sure this policy does that. It only excludes non-pedestrian use. All forms of human intrusion should be excluded if the purpose is truely to preserve nature. In reality, this policy is just a case of one group of users trying to exclude others. As an attempt to allocate public land access fairly among all users, this policy is a failure before it's even implemented.

What seems to be ignored in these policies is that, "We the people", through our government own these lands. The owners should have a say in how it gets used and no owners should be excluded unless their activity is detrimental to the lands. Some argue that off road vehicles are detrimental, but with good managemenet policies everyone can share these resources. After all, registration fees, and various taxes are paid by off road vehicle owners in addition to money's spent on gas, food, and lodging. Hikers, bikers, and horse back riders don't have to pay any registration fees. I think it's more than fair that OHVs get to partake in the great outdoors along with these other groups.
