i am almost at the point of selling my machines. i cant ride anywhere anymore. i just heard that the best spot to ride within an hour of my house was raided and everyone was kicked out. WTF, when are the political @$$holes that run this state going to figure out that we vote too. i am at my witts end with this crap. why do they have areas for bicycles and snowmobiles? what about us??? even on public land they kick us out. i dont know about anyone else, but i am not going to take it anymore. someone please help us law-abiding citizens that choose to ride atv's for fun and adventure, not to destroy land and disrespect landowners. I just looked up Slate Hill and saw that you're near Middletown? I grew up near that area and know that at least up to a few years ago there was good riding near Stewart Airport. We used to go sledding in the winter and 4x4 driving in the summer (didn't have the ATV then).

I think that the biggest problem in NY is that the enviro-***** are much more organized than we are. I hope in a few years to have saved up enough $$ to buy a large plot of land (50+ acres) for recreation. So nuts to them! I'll be riding on my own frickin' land and you'll all be welcome to join in the fun! (as long as you're not a member of greenpeace)

hey memento,
i am near middletown and that area by stewart airport you talk about is probably the maybrook riding area that i always hear about but have never been there. i just moved here about a year ago. i wouldn't mind going there if there was someone to show me where it is.
let me know when you get that land. i will take the ride out to go trailing. thanks

I feel for you guys, here in MN, the green ***** have been able to push a bill through that could cripple ATV riding in MN, and leave us with virtually nothing to ride on, and jack our fees way up to pay for all 'off road damage' our "evil" ATVs do. The best weapon for any ATV rider is organization, join a club, start a club, write to senators, congressmen, etc. to explain your needs and concerns. It takes time, but a little effort now may make a big difference in the future. I used to think the huge forest areas here would be great for trail riding with my family, now it is starting to look like soon I'll be trailing my quads out of state just to find legal riding, if all the anti riding bills pass our lawmakers. We are fighting to keep what we have, and get more legal trails established, but the antis are gunning for us with both barrels, so it will be an uphill fight. I hope you guys can find a way to change your laws as well, our sport deserves it's own space and trail access, along with the snowmobiles and bikes and hikers.

Yeah, I agree 95wolv. It makes me sick. I'm heading up north near Bigfork to do some riding this Sunday. Gotta get in as much as possible before these wackos shut everything down. At least Wisconsin is only a hop skip away and my Dad owns land there.

You guys live in New York, and I must say, it is much worse here in Massachusetts. if the cops see you in a trail, they stick you with a $300 ticket, and tow your quad which costs $100+ to get out of impound. And worse i'm only 14, and if im towed again, i dont get my liscence till im 18. I've been to court 3 times, im on probation, and i had to go to an 'alternative to prosecution' class. I always respect laws but these pinko commies set up traps to get you caught by getting the cops to wait around bends in the trails. I'm sick of this. HELP! ! !

Make sure you get Hillary outta there...you could always move to Utah, a very ATV friendly/conservative state.
