The word fascist does come to mind. It's like the environmentalist whackos who have a green day and everyone flies in their personal jets, and takes a nice stretch limo to the event. But, the laws and edicts they want passed will somehow not apply to them.

 

I feel every one, every where is allowed to have any opinon they like, that is the great thing about our country, no secret police to haul you off in the middle of the night for speaking your mind !!!, but please, give the guy a chance, he's only been in office a couple of months, trying to straighten out the 8 year mess from the last butthead is going to take time and some radical thinking. Just remember, it isn't one man with ultimate power waving a wand and POOF, all your rights are gone. President Obama can't just think" gee today I'll ban ATVs and gun rights, and no one can stop me, MWAAAH HAAA HAAA" Bills and laws are mostly drawn up by Congress and the Senate, voted on, then sent to the President to approve or veto, if you are having a problem with any laws being introduced, call and write your Congressman or Senator, please don't just lob blame on one man for all the garbage he is forced to deal with. Yes, Obama is just a man, and flawed like all of us, so let's give him a chance to go to work, it is a lot easier to critisize right away, then to wait and give someone a chance to prove themselves. We allowed old W to run amok for 8 years, lets not shoot Obama the first 6 months, he has a huge cleanup in front of him.

Okay, as far as the Congress, Senate, and White House goes; The word fascist does come to mind. They've already started closing public lands to motorized vehicular traffic. They're talking about gun bans. They're seriously talking about applying carbon footprint laws that you and I will be strapped with (while Polozzi said they won't apply to the Congressional building). Obama has spent more money than the two wars we are/we have fought. At least, Bush kept them on the run and we didn't get attacked again on our own soil; not to mention booting Hussein out of his power seat. (Oddly enough the mainstream press didn't cover the fact that 160 metric tons of yellow cake uranium were taken out of Iraq after we went in. it was enough to make a handful of nuclear bombs) On the other hand, domestic spending for pork barrel projects went up under Bush. He should have stood his ground. Being from Mass. I can tell you we were better off with Bush than Hanoi John Kerry, or "I'm full of hot air, Al Gore". I've seen what liberal politics have done to my state. I don't wish them on the rest of my countrymen. PS I wouldn't vote for Mitt Romney either. He helped to create "universal healthcare" here in Mass. It is already well over $500 million in the hole in just a couple years. I vote for a Democrat State Representative in my local elections because he most closely mirrors my views. In the couple of months he's been in office we have seen error after error. He ought to fire his tax cheat Treasury Secretary. Also, they discontinued oil leases in some parts of Wyoming that were producing domestic oil. They say they want energy independence and cut off oil exploration??? I think we should do ALL we can. Turbines, solar cells, hydro-electric dams, etc. But, in the meantime we should explore our own resources too. PS I do call, write, email, my local Congresswoman (Niki Tsongas), and my two Senators, Ted "Chappaquiddick" Kennedy, and the previously mentioned John "Hanoi" Kerry. They largely ignore pleas for common sense in regards to US policy and spending.

 

Well said, Moose, you are right on the mark, I agree with a lot of what you say. People like Ketchup Kerry are so far removed from the normal everyday working class, they have no idea how they are affecting us. Billionaires like Kerry think huge taxes and spending are the way to go, because a few extra bucks a gallon for gas, or double the cost of health insurance don't phase a guy who married into a multi billion dollar family. More people need to get involved with the voting process, tracking how their Senators and Congressmen take care of their districst's wishes and needs, and then vote accordingly at the next election. Wake up, America, 60 % participation voter turnout means 40% of the retards that are ruining the country are slipping back into office, without our input to stop them !!

Notice that I said the "Obama Regime"! That does not just include Obama himself, but the Congress that was voted in by the same peeps who voted for him.

It will be clear before the next election two years from now, that this experiment in social change has been a disaster. Hopefully then, we will turn over the House with new members, that will simply vote down all this nonsense that is going on now.

Instead of swearing and trashing each other, we are all making intelligent, logical and mature statements, from what I've seen of mosts threads in here, we are in big trouble !!!! ( just kidding, it is just refreshing not to have a bunch of immature comments being tossed back and forth, thank you all for your contributions to this thread so far.)

 

I am going to throw in my 2 cents worth in hopes of opening some eyes about our current situation. First of all to those of you those of you that think we need to give Obama and his crew a chance. This method of trying to "fix" things has been tried many times through history and they have ALL FAILED. Socialism, Marxism, Fascism are all proven failures. Over time the government that we have today has been progressively increasing their presence in our lives. It has been so gradual that people have come to depend on it, and that is the problem. There are times when deficit spending is necessary to temporarily "boost" the economy, or to help out in a way to assist the natural progression of whatever the situation may be. After the assistance phase of government involvement the payback needs to be implemented so that we pay for it as soon as possible instead of sending it to another generation to pay for. Our government cannot continue to spend money that we do not have. It is that simple folks, we don't have the money. The government is no different than our very own household in that we cannot spend $10 a month if we are only taking in $5 per month. At some point we all know that we are going to have to pay the price. Forced equalization does not work under any circumstances. I do not have any personal issues against Obama other than the way he thinks. He is clearly a socialist and believes with all his heart that what he wants to do is truly the best thing for America. I do not believe for a second that he is maliciously trying to destroy America. I do believe that he is fundamentally wrong in his beliefs. Robin Hood only works in make believe. I am not assuming that the Republican pary is any better at this point. Both parties are flawed to the core and we as Americans need to voice our concerns and create a mandate to our government to do what needs to be done, and that is NOT to continue throwing our money at more programs that will NOT work.

 

Hello from a new member.

This stimulus package has me really concerned. Someone has to pay for this, who will that someone be? Taxpayers will be paying for this for a long time.
The package is supposed to stimulate our economy by, among other things, creating jobs. I lost a decent job to Mexico back in 2001 because of NAFTA.
I don't have a problem with the Mexican people but I do have a problem with those who made NAFTA possible.
Since then I've seen many good jobs leave this area. When citizens are forced into lower paying jobs the Government also suffers because they have less of a tax base to collect from. I wonder if our polititians know this. I wonder if they even care.

If the jobs created can't pay for the stimulus package we will be in an even worse situation.
